This whole last week we spent doing a pecha kucha presentation. I thought it was a cool project, because i have never did anything like it before, i froze up speaking, because I was nervous. If I were to go back to the beginning, I would have asked more questions, got myself more organized, and been a little better prepared. I know that is easy to say, and harder to show, but it is was proven in my presentation that if i would have just tried a little harder I would have gotten a better score. I also learned that it is better if you are a head of the game more than behind. Meaning that if you get ahead on the task at hand there is better chance you will do better, because you will have more time to perfect it. This trimester has been interesting, I have never did so much reading, or realized the real impact reading has on people. I liked the class work we did, and felt like it was a great friendly environment. You could ask any question and get a straight answer. You could get help whenever needed, and work at your own pace. 10/10 trimester. Thank You for making the class great!

It is well known the more you read the more you learn. That also goes for your vocabulary. The more you read, the more words you are exposed to. And the more you read these words, the better chance they work their way into your everyday vocabulary. This will help with communication, in future situations, maybe a job interview, a meeting, or maybe even just an everyday talk with your family and friends. Reading also helps you with knowing how to write in more of a professional way. This ties into the vocabulary end of reading. The more you read the more words you know and learn how to put those words into context. To add on to that with reading it allows your mind to wander, and imagine the words on the page, or draw a picture of what you are reading. This week I was gone most of the week, but the days I there we spent a lot of time on our books that we chose from the four choices. During this time focus is key, and it benefits you in the long run. Reading can increase intelligence, dr.seuss once said “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”. He was basically saying the more you read the more you will learn/know, and that will make you smarter in a way. Not only does it increase intelligence, but it also helps brain power, or memory, or energy. Just like running increases your stamina, reading helps your memory. It is also said that reading before you go to bed is one of the best times. For reasons of, it tires you. Where sitting in front of a screen before bed keeps you awake longer and screws up your sleep schedule. During this week we had did a lot with shared leadership. The importance of it, how it applies to the world today, how it applied to the world 30 years ago. We looked at different things from, the obsolete man, to slip of the pen, read the fine print, and signing statements. With both of these it showed how we have to write our new blogs. Well watching the obsolete man it was best to take notes, and watch carefully. The main thing I saw with it was, how the state had all control, with little ideas how to use that control in a manner that would benefit the citizens of the state. They had more concern about if someone had a purpose, and if they had no purpose they were punished to death. Which the librarian tried making a point in no man is obsolete. Learning about signing statements showed that the government might have more power than we think they do. With signing statements giving the president the right to almost like comment on a law, and say he is not going to follow it. Which gives the electorate less power, makes their voices weaker, and their opinions almost not matter. We learned a lot this week, but if I was to focus on two important things, I'd focus on believing in yourself, and me as a reader. We looked a lot at what we believe in, and doing what we love this week. Looking at stories from Tony hawk, Michael oatman, and Mr.Schoenborn. All of those inspiring. One thing I was confused with was the I believe in assignment, mostly with trying to figure out what i believed in. But on friday I figured it out. All of those stories had one thing in common. They never gave up, and proved people wrong. Now they all love what they do on a everyday basis. “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day on your life” - confucius. I think that quote is a perfect example of all those people. They now never work a day in their lives. All of this showed me to stick with what i believe in, and never give up on my dreams. I started to get into the book i'm reading, I like the difference it has from the movie it has. It pulls you in and attracts you to read. I never liked to read before, but this book pulls me and makes me interested. I learned something new about myself, I like to read! Was not sure how the first week was gonna be, what we were gonna learn, how the class was gonna go. This class is very interesting, I like how it is all on the computer, a lot like mr.spences class. I liked the quick write, it brought back a cool memory that I got to write about, I started reading the hunger games, the book pulls you in I’m gonna take it home and read it because it is much more detailed than the movie, shows you how important reading actually is, and how much you read in everyday activities, and the poems are not just poems, if you listen there is a lesson behind them, there is meaning to them, you can learn a lot from just one poem. I have always been interested in reading about facts or learning new facts, but in just one week i learned that it is the story behind the facts that is the most interesting facts not the facts it self. Andy’s story about his daughters really helped show that, because you remember that the one daughter wanted the other to be grounded for a 1000 years, but you remember that detail so well, because of the story behind that detail. Never been a big reader, I do not mind reading, it’s just something i was never interested in. I have watched the hunger games and loved the movie, but only 22 pages into the book i can tell you that it is way better than the movie, because of all the details it pulls you into the book, and makes you actually want to read. This class is awesome a great envorement, can not wait for all the interesting things we are gonna learn. |
